Relationship skills are stressed with a focus on developing interpersonal skills through self-evaluation, methods of conflict resolution, behavioral concepts, and effective communication principles.<\/p>\n<p>We all agree it is ideal for fathers to get out of prison or jail, become a successful, involved and engaged dad.<br \/>\nGiving incarcerated fathers a<em><strong> vision<\/strong><\/em> that they have a <strong><em>unique<\/em><\/strong> and<strong> <em>irreplaceable<\/em><\/strong> role in the life of their child along with increased confidence and changes in attitude and skills is a powerful motivator for successful re-entry. Fathers who are involved with, and connected with their children and families prior to release are less likely to return to jail or prison.<\/p>\n<p>Just as housing, transportation, and a job are the three most critical and immediate needs of an ex-offender, reconnecting with their children is vital to the future of the ex-offender and his family. When a dad really cares and has a connection with his child and family, he can be more motivated to seek and secure the aforementioned needs so that he can \u201cdo right\u201d by his kids and family.<\/p>\n<p>This twelve week course that can be joined at any point during the course as classes will be stand alone and repeated classes every twelve weeks.
