South Park Academy<\/strong> \u2013 Canyons School District \u2013 Draper site \u2013 male and female offenders<\/p>\n

Central Utah Academy<\/strong> \u2013 South Sanpete School District \u2013 Gunnison site \u2013 male offenders<\/p>\n

County Jails\/Contracted<\/strong> \u2013 each local school district provides educational support \u2013 male\/female offenders<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POST SECONDARY EDUCATION: <\/strong>(Vocational Certifications) If part of the Case Action Plan (CAP). Vocational Certifications may be added to an offender\u2019s CAP, if they have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate and they are willing to sign a Promissory note and have enough time to complete the VT certification.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Vocational Certificates<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Partners: Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) <\/strong><\/span>at Draper site, Snow College <\/span><\/strong>at Gunnison site, Unitah Basin Applied Technology College (UBATC)<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Duchesne County Jail \u2013 Vocational Certificate Courses : Culinary Arts (male and female), Office Technologies (male and female), Residential Construction, Building Construction, Machining, Industrial Maintenance, Welding, and Automotive and Related Technologies. Credits\/certificates are transferable to any Applied Technology College in the State.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL\/LIFE SKILLS: <\/strong>Examples of some of the courses offered at the Draper and Gunnison sites taught by UDC Correctional Specialists or contract partners.<\/p>\n

Moral Reconation Therapy<\/strong> \u2013This course is not \u201ctherapy\u201d and all instructors must have a minimum of a high school diploma and complete MRT Instructor Training. This course is offered at the Gunnison site and AP&P Treatment and Resource Centers<\/p>\n

Thinking for a Change \u2013 <\/strong>This is cognitive behavioral course through the National Institute of Corrections.<\/p>\n

Domestic Violence<\/strong> \u2013 Is provided by contract by trained Domestic Violence treatment staff<\/p>\n

Anger Management<\/strong> \u2013 This course helps offenders learn to deal with their anger issues<\/p>\n

Parenting <\/strong>\u2013 This course helps offenders learn and improve parenting skills<\/p>\n

Employment Skills<\/strong> \u2013 This course is taught by Correctional Specialists who have received Offender Employment Specialist instructor training provided through the \u201ctrain the trainer\u201d program through National Institute of Corrections<\/p>\n

Programs highlighted in red are eligible for Earned Time Credit:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

An offender is entitled to at least four months of earned time credit for completing a program associated with the highest ranked priority in his\/her case action plan and at least four months of earned time credit for completing a program associated with one of the other recommended programs in his\/her case action plan. These programs do not need to be completed sequentially (e.g. an offender can receive earned time credit for successful completion of a lower priority program before completing his\/her number one priority program). The Board may grant additional time cuts for completion of other programs, but the Board is not compelled to grant additional time cuts for completion of additional programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
